I have done several variations of this painting, but none in these proportions. I walked around my own home and found that this tall, skinny sized canvas fits in some smaller, more awkward spaces. The more impressionistic style really adds to the dilapidated feel and helps to symbolise the disappearance of the traditional Aussie milk bar and street shopping strip in favour of large shopping centres where all the shops are variations on the same thing.
