When travel was off the cards due to the Covid pandemic, the only way I could go to the south of France was to paint it!
Based on a photo I took in a small town just outside of Arles, I was inspired by the endless terracotta tiles and ancient buildings, contrasted with modern flourishes such as TV antennas and internet cables.
Sometimes the best part of the night is the anticipation and getting dressed up - a beautiful sunset, a shower and a glass of wine means 'A Night On The Tiles' in on the cards!
